1993 Richard Linklater press interview

Richard was obviously promoting the film in 1993 in this recently posted video on YouTube by Bobbie Wygant in this great interview video.  This is raw footage, and duplicated from 2 angles (Richard and then the interviewer) and you can see how it would have been edited for a local news piece.  Very interesting, and from his answers it is apparent that he was the indie maverick you would think, especially at that time in his life and career.  

It's very interesting that he answers the question about "if you could work with any actor/actress in Hollywood" question with the fact that he doesn't think like that (which is true), and that he predicts many in the Dazed cast will become big-time popular actors and in retrospect, to be contradictive, he has of course worked with many of the actors in the Dazed cast (and other stars of his films like Ethan Hawke) on a repeated basis even though he says he doesn't think like that.  A lot of writer/directors think like that, of course, and Richard is no exception.
